Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is situated on the south of Kenya with stunning views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (5'895 m above sea level and 4'900 m above the Amboseli plateau).
It hosts a large number of elephant families including some big tusks.
Amboseli is a Maasai word meaning "salty dust".
Despite this name, there are in fact five different habitats from dried Amboseli lake to wetlands and sulphur springs. Savannah and woodlands not to be forgotten.
Outside the park there are several private conservancies that de facto are extending the park and protecting the animals and environment around the park.
