Tarangire National Park
TARANGIRE National Park is the sixth largest park in Tanzania, very close to the Manyara region and Arusha in the north of the country.
The name of the park is derived from the Tarangire River, which crosses the park. It covers an area of approximately 2'850 square kilometeres with a variaty of landscapes from swamps, ridges, valleys.
Seasonally flooded grassland and Baobab trees are a really nice contrast.
The large number of Elephants , waterbucks, giraffe, eland and zebra makes it also interesting for predators like lions, leopards, cheetah. Lions can also be see up on the trees like in Lake Manyara.
Tarangire National Park is only two hours drive on paved roads from Arusha and Lake Manyara is very close at 43 miles (70 kilometers) and is the logical extension of the visit.
